Welcome to a new paradigm in which a dancer can audition in several dance companies from different parts of the world at the same time and without travel and accommodation costs.
The obligatory payment of a registration fee will be made to reserve a place, which will give the right to participate in the selection process for all the participating companies in the audition. In addition, priority payments can be made voluntarily, which give the right to notify the company of the show of interest in it. LookBallet will not be responsible for the absence of a participating company or the priority payments associated with it.

The dancer will be assigned an identification number that must be displayed on the screen at all times. If you want to keep your identity hidden, it is recommended to take the necessary measures, such as hiding your face. Your identity will only be revealed with your consent if you are selected by a company.
Taking part in a Lookballet audition multiplies the dancer’s chances of getting a contract with any company in the world. Before the audition, the companies that sign up to participate will be informed, thus opening the notification period for showing interest in them through priority payments.
A ballet master and a pianist of recognized experience will teach a technique class adapted to be taken from home. Lookballet is not responsible for the poor internet connection that the dancer may have or for any accidents or injuries that may occur during the audition, recommending extreme precautions when the floor or shoes are very slippery. Just before it starts, Lookballet will send you an authorization on the platform to be able to connect.
The final choice of dancers will depend exclusively on the dance companies participating in the audition, without obligation on their part to necessarily have to offer a contract to any dancer. The audition could be completed with a personal interviews or invitation to audition in person later, all of this being independent of the responsibilities contracted by Lookballet.
Any entity or institution that wants to hire a dancer can participate free of charge in the audition. You will simply have to register as a company with LookBallet and fill in the corresponding form. When there are 48 hours left before the start of the audition, taking 00:00 AEDT as a reference, you will be asked by email to confirm your attendance, in order to publish it on the Lookballet website 24 hours before. If the company finally decides not to participate in any or all of the reserved times, please let us know. If we do not receive its confirmation on time or it never arrives, the company will simply be removed from the list of participating companies.
It will be necessary for the company to fill out a small form about aspects such as the number of free contracts that they need to cover, what type they are, aspects that they are looking for in an applicant and other information related to the audition date and times in which they will participate. In addition, the company will give LookBallet permission to publish this information in advance of the audition. And just before it begins, LookBallet will send the company the list of candidates who have shown interest in its job vacancies through payment of priority.
If there is considerable demand from companies and dancers to justify it, LookBallet could potentially hold the same multiple audition at 3 different times on the same day: 10:00 AEDT, 10:00 CET, and 10:00 EST. These times correspond to Sydney, Paris and New York and have been chosen so that any company or dancer in the world can participate at a reasonable time. In addition, companies and dancers can participate in all the hours that finally cover the audition in order to facilitate their visibility, despite geographical limitations.
LookBallet is based on one of the principles of “mass marketing”: try to reach the largest possible audience. And it achieves this by reducing both geographical and, therefore, socioeconomic, and temporal barriers. It changes to a new paradigm in which dancers who potentially would never have considered auditioning for a certain company or would not have even had the material option, can now do so and perhaps have the opportunity to be invited to an in-person audition. And conversely, companies with a long tradition, with very rigid audition systems in place, to which only dancers with proven academic and/or professional experience used to have access, now, thanks to LookBallet, they can also try to discover unpolished young talents whom they they would not have known otherwise. At the same time, lesser-known companies can increase their visibility among a very specialized public, both professional and amateur, and thus increase their presence on the international scene.
A ballet teacher and a pianist of recognized experience will teach a ballet class adapted to be taken from home and that can be recorded. Just before LookBallet begins, in addition to sending the company a maximum of 3 authorizations on the platform to connect to the class, it will also send the list of identification numbers of the dancers who have shown special interest in it, with the intention to pay special attention to them. During the class, only the private chat with LookBallet will be enabled to resolve any doubts that may arise in this regard, but communication with dancers will not be possible.
At the end of the ballet class, the company must send to auditions@lookballet.com the list of selected dancers of a maximum number of twice the number of vacant places offered in its “Company Info”. It will include the intention of the company for each of the selected dancers: personal interview, invitation to face-to-face audition or offer of a contract or scholarship. In the following days, this communication will be answered by LookBallet with another that will include contact details and other information of said dancers, as long as they have previously authorized said sharing of personal data. From that moment on, LookBallet will disassociate itself from any agreement or relationship that could be established between the dancer and the company, limiting itself at most to using it for advertising purposes on its website and social networks.
